1) Do your research: Doing an online search for massage therapists near you is a great start but it doesn't end there. Once you've found 3 to 5 therapists near you, we recommend that you take a close look at what they are offering. Is it a Spa environment where they only specialize in relaxation? Is it a Sports Massage clinic that only offers deep tissue and stretching? Is it a Therapeutic clinic that offers a variety of modalities? 2) Try them out: We recommend that you set up a 60-90min session before committing to a specific therapist. During this initial session, you will be able to gauge the effectiveness of the session. Was there a thorough intake process? Did the therapist check-in with you throughout the session? Did you feel or see improvement post-session? The massage therapist should be able to apply techniques that provide some relief even in the first session. Did they give you homework or provide and assessment of what they found?
