Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) teaches that your life force energy — Qi — flows through organ systems in a timed cycle every 24 hours. Each organ has a 2-hour window where it is most active, supporting your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
When an organ’s energy is imbalanced, you may feel symptoms, emotions, cravings, or disrupted sleep around its time period. By observing patterns and supporting the body with restorative practices, you can return to harmony.
Below is a guide to each phase of the TCM clock — including the organ system, associated emotions, signs of imbalance, and natural balancing strategies.
